Angela Faustina is a local artist known for contemporary realist paintings and murals of glistening, vivid fruit. She walks the line between realism and idealism, with striking close-ups that capture the sensual landscapes in fruits, an unconventional take on still life. Faustina attended New College of Florida, where her love of art evolved into a calling, growing to a catalog of works now shown in exhibitions worldwide. The mural painting entered her repertoire after moving to Atlanta, where she first explored the medium of city walls through the Stacks Squares Mural Project in Cabbagetown. Faustina calls Atlanta “the best place to be a professional artist,” extolling its diversity and culture of community support for artists. Her artwork can be seen on walls over town and a piece in Cat Eye Creative’s newest show in Downtown Atlanta. The Loft in Marietta Square carries a collection of Faustina’s art, from card-sized paper works to giant oil canvases. More on Angela Faustina’s work can be found at angelafaustina.com.
