Sarasota Phone Company Is a Rising Star

Star2Star Communications was launched in 2006 on a simple premise: Eventually, the Internet would allow cheaper, quality telephone calls that businesses and individuals could depend on. That turned out to be a good bet and, as a result, the South Manatee County company has become one of the region’s fastest-growing firms. After signing up its first business clients in 2006 with the promise of lower phone bills, Star2Star’s revenue now is growing at a rate of 70 percent a year. The company expects to exceed $30 million in sales in 2013, CEO Norm Worthington said.
