Sarasota Bay Water Festival
Celebrating the importance of Sarasota Bay to the region’s environment and economy, the Sarasota Bay Water Festival will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 17. There will be local food trucks, creative arts tent featuring a dozen local wildlife photographers and artists selling art items, a display of the winning submissions to the I Love Sarasota Bay Photo Contest, paddling 101 with Brad Tanner at 10 a.m., a fishing clinic at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., a short kayak trip with Brad into the Bay at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., vintage boats, dip netting and nature walks throughout the day, paddle board demonstrations with Sarasota Wind and Water Adventures, scuba, birding, and Sarasota’s first “iceberg,” a sculpture by Richard Herzog, sculpting professor at New College of Florida, live music on the main stage including Ben Hammond, The Lauren Mitchell Band, Stumble Creek, Matt Gerhardt and Undertow, Cort Farris and Fe Band, and a 4 p.m. performance by Sarasota’s award winning Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show Team.
