New College of Florida has launched a completely re-designed 2000 page web site with a new look, logo and a wealth of features.

The new site is built around a narrative theme and includes stories about students, faculty and alumni, plus a wealth of handy features designed to engage the nearly 100,000 prospective students and their families who visit the New College site each year.  Separate landing pages for Current Students as well as Faculty and Staff were also included on the site in order to streamline information to those users.

The offices of Public Affairs and Information Technologies spearheaded the nearly two year design project with input from current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, donors and representatives from the Sarasota and Bradenton communities.  Artwork and layout for the site were designed by Robert Rytter and Associates of Butler, Maryland.

The new site features Content Management System (CMS) technology that enables individual offices and departments to readily update content related to their areas with minimal training and without purchasing expensive software. The system is customizable and easily integrates with existing software on campus.  The College’s former website design had been in use since 2001.

A soft launch of the redesigned website was unveiled in late February and allowed the campus community to preview the website and submit comments or report errors. The site went live on June 3, 2008 and provided the opportunity train new users, update content and work out any kinks with the system. Now, the school invites the public and media to use it as a complement to their current resources.
