New College Alumnae/i Association Announces Newly Elected Board Directors

The New College Alumnae/i Association has announced the recent election of Mike Burton ‘86, Carla Eastis ‘89, and Susan Sapoznikoff ’83 for service on its Board of Directors.

Mike Burton graduated from New College in 1990 with a concentration in environmental studies. In 2003, he graduated with a master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of South Florida, with specializations in finance, management information systems and international business. Burton is currently the vice president and corporate leader of Ecological & Water Resources at WilsonMiller, Inc., a Florida-based planning and engineering consulting firm. He lives in Palmetto with his wife, Tracy.

Susan Sapoznikoff graduated from New College in 1987. She subsequently attended law school at Florida State University, where she served as president of the Student Bar Association and vice-president of the ABA-Law School Division. She practices law in the area of workers’ compensation defense and counsels her clients on employment law issues. She currently lives in Tallahassee with her two children.

Carla Eastis graduated from New College in 1992 with a concentration in political science. She earned an MA and PhD in sociology from Yale University. Carla is currently assistant professor of sociology and institutional research associate at Catawba College (Salisbury, NC). She lives in the Charlotte area with her spouse, Michael Serulneck, and daughter Sarasota.

Current board members Robert Hans ‘76 and Robert Lincoln ‘76 were also re-elected to serve another three-year term.

The New College Alumnae/i Association was founded in 1985. The purpose of the Association is to “promote communication among Alumnae/i and between Alumnae/i and New College to sponsor activities and events for Alumnae/i to advise the President of New College of Florida and the President of the New College Foundation, Inc. of Alumnae/i concerns and to provide financial and other assistance to New College in carrying out its educational mission.”
