Manatee Residents May Benefit from State Budget Goodies

Local residents may benefit from goodies tucked into the state budget, expected to top out at about $75 billion. Florida lawmakers are putting the final touches on the budget as they approach the end of the session slated for Friday. Represented among the many columns of figures making up the huge budget document are monies for treatment of emotionally-disturbed children; construction of a new science complex wing at New College of Florida; funds for Marie Selby Botanical Gardens; and support for Boys & Girls Clubs here and across the state.
