Bradenton City Council Proclaims July 20 Snooty the Manatee Day

At Wednesday’s Bradenton City Council Meeting, a proclamation was announced to honor Manatee County’s long-time mascot and South Florida Museum resident, Snooty the Manatee. … It also recognizes the manatee’s help in bringing tourism to county named after his species; his part in helping to prepare 26 ill or injured young manatees for release into the wild as they recuperated in his pool; and the Mote Marine Laboratory and New College of Florida research he was involved in for the benefit of science.
