New College of Florida offers emergency funding options to students in emergency and crisis situations.
New College of Florida offers emergency funding for students facing urgent situations. All New College students applying for emergency funds must complete the Emergency Fund Application in detail according to the type of funding requested. After submitting the application, students will be contacted by a member of the New College Emergency Fund Committee to review their information before the request is formally considered by the committee (Note: The Financial Aid office may also be contacted for further financial details regarding your request). The committee will then assess the request and, if approved, funds will be disbursed to the student account or a third-party vendor, with receipts required if paid directly to a vendor.
Approved funding can only be provided to New College students and is limited to once per academic semester. The maximum available amount is $2,500 per student or family unit per degree, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis. Assistance is not intended for ongoing support.
Please note the fund is sustained by monetary contributions. Requests are evaluated individually based on the committee’s emergency criteria. Please note that there are no appeals procedures for emergency funds.
