Professor Labrador-Rodríguez’s interests in teaching and research include Afro-Spanish American literature and history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, literature written by Cuban slaves, contemporary Caribbean literature and culture, and race and nation in Spanish America. She has published several articles about race and the role of intellectuals in Cuba and Puerto Rico.
