New College Library Association Announces New Board Members

The New College Library Association has announced the election of three new board members: Heather Clark, Shelley Lister and Norma Savin.

Heather Clark is vice president and private client manager, Private Wealth Management, U.S. Trust, Bank of America. Ms. Clark is well known in the banking community and was previously with SunTrust Bank. She has long been active in the Sarasota community and served on the Library Association’s Pique-nique sur la Baie committee for six years. She is a member of the Junior League of Sarasota, Gulf Gate Elementary School PTA and numerous other church and civic organizations.As president of Abitar Contract Furnishings, Shelley Lister is responsible for the business development of the company and oversees its operations.

Her experience spans more than 29 years in the fields of architecture, interior design and contract furniture. Active in numerous civic and professional organizations, she is a member of the Junior League of Sarasota, Sarasota County Economic Development Corporation and is on the board of Designing Women Boutique. Ms. Lister also will serve as chair of Pique-nique 2008, taking place on April 2.

Norma Savin is a former interior designer who moved to Sarasota after her husband, Sam, was named provost of New College of Florida in 2006. Since 1991, she has had her own interior design business, Norma Goulder Savin Interiors, formerly located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She was an interior designer with The Higbee Company in Cleveland for many years. Mrs. Savin worked as a volunteer with the speech impaired at the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center and was Volunteer of the Year in 2001.

The mission of the New College Library Association, an affiliate of the New College Foundation, is to provide direct financial support to ensure the Jane Bancroft Cook Library has the intellectual resources to serve New College of Florida, the state’s officially designated “Honors College for the Liberal Arts.”
