Governor Crist Appoints Ruiz to New College Board of Trustees
Mary Ruiz, president and chief executive officer of Manatee Glens, Mental Health and Addiction Services, has been appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to the New College Board of Trustees. Her term will run from December 9, 2008 to January 6, 2010.
Ruiz received a BA from New College of Florida in 1978 and an MBA degree from the University of South Florida in 1994. She has been the President and CEO of Manatee Glens since 1987.
Ruiz serves on several boards including the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and Blake Hospital, and was the founding president of the New College Alumnae/i Association. She has served as Chairman of the Florida Council for Community Mental Health in Tallahassee since 1996, has been a member of the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association’s executive committee in Tallahassee since 1996 and a member of the League of Women Voters in Bradenton since 1994.
