Facing Move, Classic Car Museum Pleads Its Case
It is not known if Gov. Rick Scott saw the cry for help that Sarasota Classic Car Museum posted on its marquee for the governor’s recent visit to New College of Florida. The sign warned that the museum, one of the oldest antique car museums in the nation, could end up becoming a boarded-up college storage facility. After almost 60 years at the site on Tamiami Trail in North Sarasota, the museum has been told by New College, which owns the property, that after June it will have to park its collection of more than 75 classic automobiles somewhere else.
