FGCU Faculty Opposed to Higher Tuition for Arts, Humanities
Florida Gulf Coast University faculty members have taken a stand against a proposal to charge higher tuition for programs in the arts and humanities. On Friday, faculty senate members adopted a resolution opposing a proposal from Gov. Rick Scott’s higher education reform task force that recommended universities hold tuition steady for students enrolled in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs while charging higher rates for liberal arts programs.
