Sarasota Candidates Weigh In On Keeping City Vital
Arturo Santos Jr. is just who Sarasota officials are after. The 29-year-old is executive director of a beauty and wellness academy and a member of that elusive group — the “young professional.” He is also a Bradenton resident whose lease is almost up, but he does not plan to move south. His city has as much going on as Sarasota, Santos says, and there’s just more bang for your buck when it comes to affordable housing. The city has gotten used to the rejection. Students from Ringling College of Art and Design, New College and the University of South Florida often move away after graduating.
