New College Names Robin Williamson as Dean of Student Affairs
New College of Florida has named Robin Williamson, Ph.D., as its dean of student affairs.
Williamson has served since September 2012 as assistant dean of student development at Texas Christian University, a private institution in suburban Fort Worth with about 8,600 undergraduate students.
At TCU, Williamson oversaw programs including the TCU Leadership Center, Office of Student Organizations, Academic Orientation and First Year Experience. Her previous positions at TCU included senior director of student development services, associate director of administration, and director of community service.She also has worked in student service roles at Case Western Reserve University, Marquette University, and University of South Carolina. “Robin’s demonstrated record of success over her two decades of experience in college student services make her an ideal choice for our dean of student affairs,” said New College President Don O’Shea.
“When she visited New College, everyone she met – students, faculty and staff – was excited about her energy and her understanding of what our campus needs. We’re very pleased to have Robin join our community.”
At New College, she will oversee residence life, student organizations, student activities, orientation and other programs.

Williamson received her doctorate in higher education administration from University of North Texas in 2010. She has a master’s degree in education from University of South Carolina and received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago. She begins her work at New College in mid-July.
