April is Financial Literacy Month

April is financial literacy month!  A study by the financial educator’s council found that people of all ages lack basic knowledge of how to effectively handle their finances.  The University of South Florida Sarasota Manatee in partnership with Cumberland Advisors held a workshop to help educate the Suncoast.  Students, teachers, parents and business professionals listened intently to speakers talk about common money problems and how to successfully fix them.
Tracy Collins is an assistant professor of economics at New College of Florida, she said that being financially sufficient starts from an early age.
