Faculty, staff get into the holiday spirit
As the fall semester winds down, staff and faculty of New College took time to celebrate this past week; sharing food and drink at two annual events.
College Hall was standing room only for the Holiday Lunch Dec. 14. With catering provided by Metz Culinary Management, dozens of raffle prizes were handed out under the watchful eye of President Don O’Shea’s executive assistant, Shelley Wilbur. This was her 17th consecutive year hosting the event.
Earlier in the week, the annual holiday happy hour brought faculty and staff together socially, which included a photo booth with props.
Metz’s chef in charge of the lunch, Curtis Hawk, says that for the midday feast he prepared five 25-pound turkeys, 75 pounds of potatoes, and 40 pounds of green beans. “We also made about 3 gallons of gravy,” he said.
