Student support after spring break
New College’s Student Success and Advocacy Department will continue working closely with students after spring break (as they navigate college life during the coronavirus outbreak).
A message from the department’s staff:
We know that the transition to online coursework, and the interruption to your routines and schedules, poses some challenges. However, we are confident that, as digital natives, you are well-prepared to make a smooth adjustment. Stay undeterred and know that we will partner with you to finish the semester on a strong note.
The Student Success Center will continue our coaching services while you are away. Coaches are eager to offer support and strategies as you navigate and adapt to this new situation. All coaching sessions will be done remotely via Google hangouts or phone appointments. If you already have a scheduled appointment, your coach will be sending you an invite for a Google hangout call.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, you can do so by visiting our online scheduler at ncf.mywconline.com (be sure to select “Student Success Center” under available schedules beneath the login). Once you have scheduled an appointment, you will receive a Google hangout invite from your coach. To join your Google hangout meeting at the time of your appointment, click on the event on your Google calendar and click the Join Hangouts Meet link.
If you do not have the technical availability or prefer not to do a video call, it is no problem for our session to be on the phone. There will not be any appointments available over the week of spring break, but regular service will begin Mon. March 23. Of course, you may schedule your appointments ahead of time, effective immediately. A success tip (because we can’t resist) is that, while you are away, you should establish a routine/schedule and stick to it. We are also happy to help you create and maintain this.
Assistant Director of Student Disabilities Services Joseph Mayer is available for phone appointments. Students may complete online requests for accommodations at ncf.edu/campus-life/student-disability-services/sds-forms/. Contact Mayer at [email protected] or 941-487-4637.
Also, our case manager, Regina Rodarte, will continue to provide support and advocacy services to students via phone appointments. She may be reached at [email protected] or 941-487-4510.
SST reports can continue to be submitted through the Student Support Team app on the myNCF App Gateway. Please complete the Student of Concern Form.
