Interests: The Toxicology of insecticide resistance in insects, including:

  • enhanced and induced enzymes,
  • cuticular penetration, and,
  • altered site sensitivity resistances.

Dr. McCord is also interested in the production, emission, distribution and effects of plant allelochemicals on competing plant species. He enjoys sailing, fishing, woodworking, and Amateur Radio (Call Sign: AK3A).

Current Research: Collecting, curating, identifying, and cataloging local Tardigrade species. Tardigrades are cryptobiotic, i.e. they dehydrate to survive adversities but return to life when conditions are favorable. They occur in many environments; however, little is known of our local species, their biology, habits, habitats and distributions.
