In addition to supervising the New College of Florida Writing Resource Center, Alexandra Maass teaches courses in peer writing instruction and in academic and analytical writing. She pulls from her studies in creative writing, linguistics, and literature to guide students through an approach that recognizes writing as nuanced, multifaceted communication and asks them to investigate the complex relationships between thought, community, and written language. Her courses encourage students to use their own experiences with writing and language as a starting point to further research systems, expectations, histories, and biases underlying those experiences, as well as to invite a bit of play into their writing processes.
