New Schools of Black Thought Black History Month Symposium: “Reclaiming Wellness”
3-8:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, Mildred Sainer Pavilion, New College of Florida
This symposium brings artists, activists and academics together to discuss Black life. Given the disproportionate impact that Covid-19 has had on Black communities and systemic racism’s effects on the health outcomes of Black people, the focus is on health, wellness and healing. A full day of discussions, lectures and activities include yoga, painting, creative writing, health screenings, film screenings and vendor booths selling and giving out free wellness products.
