Apply

We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2010. We look forward to reading your application!

Use the Common Application

The fastest and easiest way to submit your application is to apply online using the Common Application.  Click on the button below for immediate access to the application.

Other Ways to Apply

If you prefer not to use the online Common Application, you may download and print an application for admission (see links below) or call the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at (941) 487-5000 to receive an application via mail.

Application Checklist

The following is a quick reference checklist of items you need to submit in order to be considered for admission to New College:

$30 Non-refundable Application Fee: Submit as part of your Common Application, or enclose a check or money order (drawn on a US bank in US funds only and made payable to New College of Florida) with your printed application. Click the link below if you'd like to pay your application fee on our site with a credit card.  We accept American Express, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover. If you need to pay over the phone, please call the Admissions Office at (941) 487-5000 (note: we do not accept American Express over the phone, but we can take VISA, MasterCard, and Discover). If the application fee presents a hardship, please use the NACAC Request for Application Fee Waiver form or the SAT Fee Waiver form (see your guidance counselor for more information).

Transcript(s): New College requires an official transcript sent from each secondary and post-secondary school you have attended. Failure to do so can result in denial of admission or your offer of admission being revoked.

If you completed high school by GED, an official transcript of your GED exam scores and official high school transcript are required.  Students earning the AA from a Florida public community college should inquire individually about the possibility of waiving the high school transcript requirement.

Electronic Submission of Transcript(s): New College is a SPEEDE institution. We also may be addressed by FASTER schools using Institution ID '10002' and Spex Inst ID '730000003957400'.

Standardized Test Results (SAT or ACT): New College requires either SAT or ACT scores to be submitted along with your application, although SAT subject exams are not required.  Official scores must be supplied in one of the following ways:

  • sent directly to our office by the testing service, or
  • reported on your official school transcript(s).
On the College Entrance Examination Board's request form, use program code #5506; on the American College Testing Program's request form, use ACT code #0750. For additional information on submitting your SAT or ACT scores, please visit the College Board (SAT) or ACT websites.

Students earning the AA from a Florida public community college should inquire individually about waiving the requirement for SAT or ACT scores.

Letter of Recommendation: New College requires one letter of recommendation from either a guidance counselor, college advisor, principal, dean or teacher who has taught you in an academic subject within the past two years at your school.  For this letter, you need to use the official New College Recommendation Form (recommended) or the forms supplied along with the Common Application (Teacher Evaluation or Secondary School Report from a counselor). The recommender must submit the letter directly to the Admissions Office either electronically or by mail. We cannot accept recommendations submitted by the applicant.

Please Note: If you use the Common Application Teacher Evaluation/Secondary School Report, remember to fill out and sign the Important Privacy Notice. Failure to check yes or no in this section could delay the processing of your application.

Use of Social Security Numbers

The NCF Office of Admissions and Financial Aid collects and uses Social Security Numbers (SSN's) as necessary for the performance of the College's duties and responsibilities, taking appropriate measures to secure SSN's from unauthorized access.
