Study Abroad & Exchange Programs

“The staff here at New College are amazing and they are here to help you go wherever you may want to. Getting to study abroad in Japan was a once in a lifetime experience for me. It led me to try things I never had before and allowed me to create some amazing friendships that will stay with me forever. It truly was an enlightening experience and I can’t wait to see where I’ll go next.”

As an institution that values intellectual curiosity and fearless learning, New College of Florida encourages its students to expand their education beyond the classroom and beyond borders by studying and interning away, in the United States and abroad.  Students have access to a wide variety of programs, from exchanging at other institutions within the United States, to studying around the world on faculty-led programs, exchange programs, and programs offered by select third-party providers.

The Off-Campus Study/Study Abroad Office acts as the primary resource on campus for students seeking this invaluable experience.  The office supports the academic program and facilitates successful off-campus experiences by advising and assisting students who participate in study away programs through the entire process, from initial interest to reintegration on campus.

Students can broaden their educational perspective, access additional courses in their field, and pursue internship opportunities and field study in a different geographic and cultural setting!

National Student Exchange (NSE)

With NSE, New College students can exchange for a semester or academic year at one of the 150+ member schools, including many HBCUs and HSI, in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada. From Oregon to Alabama and California to New York, there is a perfect host campus for you!

EcoLeague

The EcoLeague is a consortium of six liberal arts colleges located in diverse bioregions, each offering a distinctive educational experience with a deep commitment to the environment and sustainability. New College students can spend a semester at Alaska Pacific University, College of the Atlantic, Dickinson College, Northland College, or Prescott College to gain a deeper understanding of a field of study across regions and institutions.

Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning (CIEL)

Exchange opportunities may also be available at other CIEL member institutions in the U.S. and Canada, including Evergreen State College and Bennington College. Like New College, CIEL schools are student-centered institutions that are committed to producing engaged life-long learners and thoughtful citizens through interdisciplinary and experiential learning techniques.
